THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HAS LAUNCHED AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND TO SUPPORT FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN OUR PARISHES AFFECTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
This fund will provide immediate and flexible assistance to parishes within the Diocese of Cleveland that have limited resources and funds to answer financial requests from parishioners due to the impact of COVID-19. The purpose of this fund is to assist pastors in immediately being able to help families and individuals in the parish community who ask for financial assistance to purchase food, pay their rent, fill their prescriptions or pay utility bills.
The fund has been seeded with $500,000 from the Catholic Community Foundation and is accepting donations from those who also want to help our Catholic community. All dollars donated to this Parish Emergency Response Fund will go towards helping individuals and families in our parish communities affected by COVID-19. Link to donate.
Pastor Application for Emergency Response Funds
To begin the parish application process, please fill out the form below and submit. As a note, the Catholic Community Foundation is suggesting giving $250 to individuals and $500 to families on a first come, first serve basis. However, you are free to award the fund in whatever manner you believe will best serve your community. For example, perhaps there is a large family that needs more than $500 or there is an individual who has been laid off who needs more than $250. The discretion is yours.
Note: Emergency Response Funds are intended to be available to parishes who do not otherwise have financial resources to provide direct assistance. There is a $5,000 limit per application, although pastors may apply more than once if additional need is there.
Applications will be reviewed weekly. If you have any questions, please contact Colleen Rigo, 216-696-6525 x4080.
