With early sponsorship commitments and wide anticipation of Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, Archbishop of New York, arriving in Cleveland, less than 25 tickets remain for the 2019 Alleluia Ball. Cardinal Dolan, who is known for his charismatic personality, will address the expected 1,000 people in attendance at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland on October 5, 2019. The Catholic Community Foundation is proud to present this year’s Alleluia Ball, which is themed, ‘Keeping Dreams Alive,’ referring to the dream of Catholic education for students and families in Northeast Ohio who benefit from tuition assistance.
“I am looking forward to joining my friend, Bishop Nelson Perez, and all the wonderful people in the Diocese of Cleveland to celebrate the Alleluia Ball which raises funds for something near and dear to my heart – Catholic education. The Gospel values that Catholic education imparts help to form the hearts and minds of young people in a way that is greatly needed in our world today, and gives great hope to the future of our Church,” says Cardinal Dolan.
This Alleluia Ball will begin with Mass in the Hilton’s Hope Ballroom, celebrated by Cardinal Dolan and concelebrated by Bishop Perez. The black tie event will continue with a full evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing. Lorraine Dodero is the Chair of the 2019 Alleluia Ball. Dodero is recognized throughout Northeast Ohio for her community service and philanthropic involvements and is the founder and current president of the Ohio Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums. She has been actively leading a dedicated group of volunteers to raise funds for Alleluia Ball that will impact the future of students, their families, and the community.
Bishop Nelson J. Perez, Bishop of Cleveland, states: “The Alleluia Ball has a rich history that invites us to celebrate our Catholic faith and philanthropy. The Ball supports Catholic education, which has always been a great blessing to the Church in Northeast Ohio. Now more than ever, families need access to Catholic education so that children can hear the Christian message and live its values. Your support provides financial resources that directly impact the futures of our students.”
Since its inception, the Alleluia Ball has raised over $7 million to support Catholic schools and families who seek a Catholic education for their children.
