“To live charitably means not looking out for our own interests, but carrying the burdens of the weakest and poorest among us.” —Pope Francis

At Catholic Charities we work to continue the mission of Jesus Christ by responding to critical needs within our local communities. Summit County’s Partners in Giving campaign hopes to answer those needs. This year we’ve set a goal of $75,000, which will help fund three of our local services: Behavioral Health & Recovery, Camp Christopher and Basic Needs.

Behavioral Health & Recovery

Meet Tom, a Catholic Charities employee, who shares his journey from addiction to recovery coach.

Every person, no matter their social standing, has been created in the image and likeness of God and is worthy of respect. This value guides our staff at St. John the Baptist Recovery Outreach Center as they help clients from local communities begin their pathway into recovery.

“Catholic Charities gave me back my hope in humanity. It taught me that there are people who genuinely care. That it isn't about the dollar. That we, as human beings, matter.” —Trish, a recovery coach at St. John the Baptist Recovery Outreach Center.

Recovery Services provide a unique, self-directed approach to substance use treatment with the guidance of peer recovery coaches.

Help respond to the drug addiction epidemic that’s happening right here in Summit County.

Camp Christopher

“At camp you get out of your comfort zone, and you experience new things with people you don't know. You make long-lasting friends.” —Cody, a first-year counselor who attended Camp Christopher every summer for 10 years.

Camp Christopher is a safe place for kids to experience intentional spiritual development while growing in nature, community and spirit.

Help children make memories that will last a lifetime.

Basic Needs

“This is a good, safe environment and it's a good place for the people to come to hang out, other than just eat.” —Robert, a client at Visitation of Mary’s Hot Meals program.

With your help, we keep the lights and heat on for families in their homes and provide hot meals, groceries and other household items.

Help provide for struggling families and individuals.
