Women's Giving Circle

Women's Giving Circle 2024 Grant Cycle Overview

Over the past year, we've embarked on a journey together, reviewing and deliberating on twelve remarkable organizations - six diocesan and six from our broader community. Through your discernment and thoughtful consideration, we narrowed the field to six finalists who were invited to our April 18th Pitch Party.

At the Pitch Party, the finalists made their pitches to our members as to why their organization should be awarded the largest grant award. After the pitches, our members voted as to which organizations received the highest allocation of grant awards. The winners are:

Diocesan Organization Grant Winners:

1. Families of Promise - awarded $15,000

2. Refugee Response Center - awarded $13,000

3. Adoption and Family Services - awarded $11,000

Community Organization Grant Winners:

1. Zelie's Home - awarded $15,000

2. Joseph and Mary's Home - awarded $13,000

3. Collaborative to End Human Trafficking - awarded $11,000

Diocesan Finalists

Families of Promise is a Catholic Charities program whose one-person staff works with children who have an incarcerated parent, providing case management, mentoring, recreational opportunities, in-home support and other services to the child and caregiver (often a grandparent).

Refugee Response Center is a new, all-volunteer  initiative led by a religious sister and a retired priest in partnership with Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services, providing basic living necessities for newly arrived refugees resettled legally in Cleveland after an average stay of 14 years in a refugee camp.

Catholic Charities Adoption & Foster Care Services works with families of all backgrounds, including those considering adoption for their child, those looking to grow their families through adoption, and those wishing to open their hearts and homes to provide temporary care to foster children.

Community Finalists

Zelie’s Home serves expectant mothers and infants by providing housing, food, life skills, education, and job placement services in a loving environment where new mothers receive guidance and tools for making good choices.

Joseph and Mary’s Home is the only homeless service provider in Northeast Ohio focused on medical respite, offering homeless women and men a place to recover from an illness, surgery or injury.

Collaborative to End Human Trafficking was founded in 2007 by local religious women orders and now operates in partnership with a broad and diverse partner base, equipping the community with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to address human trafficking in our area.
