Dave and Marie Karnak: Informed and Inspired by the Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine
Dave and Marie Karnak, longtime parishioners of St. Bridget of Kildare Parish in Parma, could not be happier with each new arrival of Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine. “It’s educational with articles like ‘In the Know with Fr. Joe.’ It’s informative in telling us about all that is going on in the Diocese. And, it’s inspirational; I love reading about all the wonderful people who are doing so many good things,” says Marie.
“The magazine is also very spiritual,” adds Dave, who is a former high school journalism advisor. “The articles are well done, and are good for meditation and contemplation of our religion.”
Near Memorial Day, the Karnak’s received an issue of Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine, titled “God and Country.” Marie contacted a Berea pastor, who provides outreach to veterans and shared the magazine with him. For many years Marie’s Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Bridget has provided Pastor Willie Springer with shawls to support veterans and their families. “I showed the magazine to Pastor Willie and he said, “My veterans would love this.” So Marie gathered some extra copies to share with veterans in the Berea area.
“The pastor was so appreciative. Sometimes you have to spread the seed of good work a little bit. That’s what I hope this magazine accomplishes.”
