Grant Opportunities

The Catholic Community Foundation manages a limited number of funds which provide for annual grant opportunities to Diocesan agencies, schools, parishes and programs and other faith-based or nonprofit organizations located within the Diocese of Cleveland, whose missions are consistent with the moral and social teaching of the Catholic Church.

At this time, we are not able to fund requests for annual appeals or membership drives, endowment funds or grants to individuals. The Foundation does not award multi-year grants, but grantees may apply for funding in consecutive years.

Please view our list of grants and guidelines below.

Cycle A - March 15 - Funding decisions will be made in late April

Cycle B - September 15 - Funding decisions will be made in late October

*If the deadline falls on a weekend, you have until the following Monday to submit your application.

Description: The Tabor Fund Grant Program was established to continue the mission of Tabor House Consultation Center. Awards are intended to provide an opportunity for applicants to refresh and/or re-energize their spirituality, faith, mind and/or physical wellbeing, as part of fostering personal development and improving their ministry. Awards will be made in the following categories: Education and Formation, Sabbaticals and Retreats.

Tabor Event Calendar (TEC) awards are also available. These awards allow qualified applicants to access programs at local retreat centers throughout the year.

Eligibility: Any bona fide employee (paid or volunteer), lay, deacons* or religious who works in a recognized ministry and is actively serving the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. Attendant parishes, schools or organizations that are engaged in a recognized ministry are eligible to apply. Ministry is broadly defined and applies to anyone engaged in ministry from deacons, religious orders, pastoral ministers, and parish/school staff to ministers of the liturgy. Please note that grant monies go to the organization where it will be spent, not to the individual awardee.

*While deacons cannot receive monies for themselves from a Tabor grant because they have a continuing fund stipulated by the Bishop, they can make use of the Tabor grants for development of programs for groups or ministries with which they work.

Amount: Up to $1,500
