Case for Support
Since its founding in 1847, the Diocese of Cleveland has grown into a vibrant Church with 182 parishes, 108 schools, and one of the nation's largest Catholic Charities organizations. Today, we are called to once again help our Church flourish by strengthening our parishes, schools, ministries, and communities.
This prayerful effort seeks to raise $200 million to support four strategic priorities:

Parishes
Strong parish communities are the heart of our diocese, and essential for the life of the Church. They nurture faith, support families, and become schools of service and evangelization.
Called to Flourish will:
STRENGTHEN PARISH COMMUNITIES
Each parish will keep 50% of the funds it raises, amounting to $70 million that will stay local. Parishes will determine their own priorities, such as capital improvements, ministry expansion, or outreach initiatives.
GROW EMERGENCY PARISH SUPPORT
The Parish Emergency Fund provides grants to bolster financial support for parishes who are unable to finance critical repairs.
SUPPORT PARISH EVANGELIZATION
This endowment will provide grants across parishes to fund creative initiatives, retreats, and leadership development in evangelization.

Worship
The incredible generosity from previous campaign efforts fully funded our priest retirement plan, invested in our seminary and theological graduate school, and created a fund to ease education debt for newly ordained priests.
Called to Flourish will:
SUPPORT YEAR-ROUND FORMATION OF PASTORAL LEADERS
An endowment will expand formation opportunities such as workshops, seminars, and retreats to strengthen leadership and offer summer stipends for seminarians.
CARE FOR THE MIND, BODY, AND SOUL OF PRIESTS
The Clergy Health and Well-Being Fund will provide medical care, counseling, and sabbaticals, while continuing to fund priest stipends to honor a dignified life of service.
NURTURE LAY LEADERSHIP
The Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd Institute will expand programming, along with enhanced financial aid, to equip lay leaders to evangelize with joy and serve their faith communities.

Evangelization
Inspiring deeper faith within our Catholic community is vital for a flourishing future. By expanding ministries and developing programs, we create opportunities where hearts can encounter Christ and discipleship thrives.
Called to Flourish will:
STRENGTHEN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
We will elevate our Catholic schools to unparalleled excellence through the five following initiatives:
- School Leadership & Talent Transformation
- Turnaround & Governance Resources
- Facilities Endowment
- Teacher Pay Endowment
- Tuition Assistance Programs (Fund a Dream)
INSPIRE YOUNG LEADERS
An endowment will be established to sustain programs at Borromeo Seminary and Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd Institute, creating meaningful opportunities and internships for high school and college students.
GROW OUR FAITH
The Office of Catechetical Formation & Parish Life will expand retreat offerings and programming for youth, young adult, and family ministry leaders. Additionally, there will be greater access to formation scholarships for Catholic school teachers and other lay leaders.
REIMAGINE CAMP CHRISTOPHER
Camp Christopher will be renewed to deepen faith and form disciples year-round. In addition to renovated cabins, a new multi-purpose retreat center will be built with an indoor chapel, and dedicated youth and adult ministries retreat staff, making Camp Christopher an accessible retreat destination in Cleveland for all ages.

Service
Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Cleveland has been a longstanding beacon of hope and compassion, offering more than 150 programs at 60 locations.
Called to Flourish will reaffirm our commitment to serve and continue the work of Christ.
ST. AUGUSTINE HUNGER CENTER
Operations will be relocated to the current OLA/St. Joseph Center, along with expanded serving lines, a renovated kitchen and food pantry, and updated office space which will allow for wraparound services to be offered.
BISHOP COSGROVE CENTER
The roof will be replaced, restrooms upgraded, classrooms refreshed to allow for mental and physical health services to be offered, and the kitchen will be renovated for the expansion of food delivery services.
IMPROVING SERVICE EFFICIENCY ACROSS THE EIGHT COUNTIES IN THE DIOCESE
The existing offices will be consolidated and essential capital improvements will be made to enhance Catholic Charities client services at regional sites.
