Catholic Charities Appeal 2024

For more than 110 years, the Catholic Charities Appeal has provided help and created hope to our most vulnerable brothers and sisters throughout Northeast Ohio. Each year parishioners are asked to provide critical financial support which is invested in more than 60 programs and 150 services to help meet the needs of the hungry and homeless, children and families, the elderly and chronically ill, and those with disabilities.

Your participation is essential to the work of Catholic Charities in our Diocese. Dollars raised through the Appeal are vital for the continuation of programs and services which enable nearly 400,000 individuals and families annually to make positive changes and improve their lives.

The yearly Appeal runs the entire calendar year from January thru December 31 and kicks off in all parishes each February. Letters requesting a gift are mailed in or around January, April, October, and November.

There are a variety of ways to donate to the Appeal:

• Go online an donate on our secure website at www.catholiccommunity.org/ccdonate
• Use the pledge card and envelope included with the Bishop’s annual letter asking for your support
• Give at your parish using the in-pew envelope in February
• Text to Donate by texting "CCHope" to 41444.
• Call 800-869-6525 ext. 1910 to make your gift by phone

You can make a gift using your credit or debit card, a check made payable to Catholic Charities or through Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) which can be arranged by phone. You can also make a pledge and request monthly pledge reminders throughout the year.

To make a gift by mail, use the envelope included with the Bishop's letter. If you do not have a return envelope, send your gift to:

Catholic Charities strives to carry on the work of Jesus and serve the poorest and most disadvantaged in our diocese. As other sources of funding shrink and needs continue to change and increase, Catholic Charities continues to offer services and programs where they are needed most. The Appeal helps to fill the funding gaps that occur each year so that children are not going to bed hungry, the homeless have a bed on which to lay their head, the addicted can find help on the road to recovery, the dying are comforted, the ill are cared for, and the lost are found.

Charitable giving is a reflection of our Christian stewardship of treasure. Giving back to God through the Appeal should require a sacrifice, one that recognizes God’s generosity to us individually. Therefore, your gift is a personal decision between you and God and should be made after thoughtful prayer and careful reflection.
